Interviewed June 2022. The interview process was short, relaxing & very comfortable. Whole interview process took about 2wks pops or less. Ist I got invited to a mandatory 1hr informational orientation using your computer/phone, where u listesn & learn more about the position & ask questions. Note: if you don't attend you don't move forward. Approximately 200 people attended. 2nd I had a video interview (5 situational Questions). Computer questions where the questions come across the screen & u have 3mins to record&answer & 3 trys to erase & re-record. Great part is you get 120hrs to do the video interview so you can stop & start as many times as you like doing that time frame. 3rd was a phone interview 5 more situational questions. Be ready, this is where they put u on the spot. The email states it's an informational phone interview where you learn more about the position and you also get to ask questions. However I was caught off guard and handled it well. Question-Tell me about a time when you used integrity? 4th Company flew me out to Portland or Seattle (your choice) to do drug testing, finger printing & take picture for babge. Also company paid hotel accommodations if you don't live in either state. I Never had a group interview or a one on one face to face. I guess everyone is different depending on how well you do in your process.

After applying, I got an email invite to their informational session. Applicants did not need to dress up for this one since we were on mute and the camera was off. It was just recruiters and current employees talking about company/position info and what to expect during training. Applicants can only ask questions via chat since we were on mute. The info session lasted about 1 hr. Due to COVID, the f2f interview was done virtually. There were two interviewers during the session. Interview lasted about 30 mins. Took about 2 weeks before I heard from them since they are limiting class sizes due to COVID.
Interview Questions
- 1) What would you do if a pax does not want to wear a mask? (Follow up question) what if that pax was an unaccompanied minor/child? What approach would you use to get the child to wear a mask? 2) Name a time when you demonstrated integrity at your job. 3) How do you feel about the mask mandate? I can't remember the rest of the questions but the focus mainly was mask wearing compliance.

Basically think of this Airlines as your training wheels to Alaska Airlines. They try to make you feel you are Alaska, but after your probation period you will be open to move forward with the Major Alaska. Horizon is not a forever company and you will learn this quickly. They want to flip you over to big Alaska airlines so they can keep low paying FAs for a couple years.

After submitting my online resume and cover letter, I received an email inviting me to a job interview in Seattle. There was no way to schedule it, they just informed me when I needed to be there. Interview started at 8:30, and after we turned in our copies of our resumes, they divided us by tables. We were allowed to talk with each other until 9:30 and they explained what to expect working at Horizon Air and conducted a group interview. After that then we did the one on one interviews.

Interview date - 12.05.19 It was a pool of 50-60 interview candidates. There were 10 people in each table (5-6 tables), with different interviewers in each table. Ice breaker (customer service related) questions will be passed around the table. Each person has to answer as best as they can. After, candidates that are moving to the next round, will be called individually to meet with another interviewer in a different room, with another set of questions. This will 2 rounds. And at the end, of they like you, they'll offer you a CJO right then and there. And drug test and background check will be initiated.

applied online asked to come to f2f interview - group activity - 2 individual f2f interviews offered job on the spot - background/drug testing Alaska/Horizon posted 4 positions from July to September so I am not sure which one was the Horizon application they selected for me to move forward. I received an email to schedule/confirm an in person interview on October 3rd for an October 16th interview date at the PDX Holiday Inn from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. From what I read on previous posts and highly recommend I suggest showing up at least an hour early - because when they move to the 1 on 1 interviews it's based on when you signed in. (I did an interview with Skywest that started at 6 pm -I was 35 min early and still didn't get an interview time until 11:30 pm). We didn't start check-ins until almost 9 am and then the introduction of the Horizon team (which consisted of at least 4 current flight attendants and maybe 6 recruiters) wasn't until almost 9:30 am. They had introductions and then the main recruiters went over a slide show with very brief overview of benefits, pay, training ect. Our interview was for a January 6th training class. Then we had a group activity which they had 1 recruiter per table. We were each given a card to read an announcement, then there was a customer service based question we would answer. After the group activity, we took a mini break and our recruiter gave us each a 1 on 1 interview time. While we waited to be called, the current flight attendants did a Q&A. Very helpful to get the prospective of all the different lengths of employment- there were 2 that had been with Horizon for 20+ years, 1 just over 10 years and the last FA was a graduate of the August training class. I went for my 1v1 with a recruiter and then was called for a second 1v1 about 20 minutes later - there were about 5 recruiters set up to do the 1v1 interviews in the next room. Basically, they asked maybe 1 or 2 customer service questions - went over your resume - why do you want to be an FA - any pet peeves - what you know about Horizon - maybe a few things about your current employer - why leaving? After the interviews were done you went back to listen to the Q&A and then you were called by another recruiter who either offered you the job on the spot or not. If you accepted they took you upstairs to room where they did fingerprints, urine testing, took your picture for a badge, filled out a background check online, and let you know who your contact was for the Onboarding process. Overall, very laid back compared to my experience with Delta & Skywest. Side Notes: They mentioned that their union is currently in negotiations for contracts that go into effect early next year - so from what I understood from the current FA's this almost always means a pay raise. Also the new uniforms are being rolled out in November. They have also changed the tattoo policy - you can have visible tatts if they are not offensive, have a knife of any kind, and are no larger than a credit card. Tips: Converse with everyone! They watch you from the moment you are in the building. Be yourself and very genuine, it's ok to be funny. Wear a dark interview suit (pant or skirt)- similar to the uniform you might wear as an FA, they want to see what you would look like in uniform. Women simple earrings, a watch (will be required if you accept the job for CPR), simple necklace if any. Make sure your make up is on point, with a colored lip. Hair up and away preferably - that's how you serve drinks. I read through the interviews that were posted on here from the past year and I found that to be the most helpful. If you are being referred by a current FA, ask them all the questions - they are a great resource and you can mention that you chatted with one in your interview, it looks like you did your homework.
