I think I'll call it here. Each time I checked the poll and it was not an even match it was in favour of the Direwolf20 pack and I don't think it ever got ahead in favour of Infinity at any point, so although it was a close call, I think the Direwolf20 pack wins on time ahead too.

I'll finish putting a server together, but as it will involve some terrain pre-gen and some (hopefully minimal) config tweaking, I'm not giving any eta's just yet.

There's no Dynmap for 1.10.2 yet, so we will have to rely on the in-game Journeymap mod and FTB Utils for now.

Wait a second, it won the popular vote, so doesn't that mean we should be playing infinity?

I mean, honestly, IC has very few things that aren't also in other, RF based mods. Name one IC machine that's more efficient, has better UI, or is cheaper or simpler to make than its RF using equivalent.

Though I suppose that sorta depends on which/how many Tech mods you have up.

But seriously, for the little IC stuff you'll want to run, you might as well just throw together enough equipment to make a bunch of Solars, get a whole ton of energy storage, and just save up a big buffer of energy to use when you actually use that equipment. Like charging your drills or armour or whatever.

Though, I suppose UU is a thing. Still, that's not necessarily going to be integrated into another, constantly running system. Might as well just have a self-contained IC system with input of your power-generation fuel of choice via other mods.

the only reason I see to get into IC2 is for the electric jet pack which is needed to make the draconic jet pack.

Which of course means you'll have to get into UU matter to get the iridium for it.

That's not enough for me to make an IC2 setup, I'll gladly pay you tuesday for an electric jetpack today

That's something that I'm rather used to via Magical Crops in my own modded series, and I don't know if I could go back to non-infinite stuff yet.

thanks for the tips, I figured out how to make the actually additions one work for me.

so any thoughts on what can replace the deep storage unit, AE2 doesn't hold enough items, I keep filling it up.

and is there a way to transmit energy to the mining dimension?

So what's a good chunk loader to use now? I went to the mining world and you can't claim chunks to load them that way. I'd like to use something that keeps the chunks loaded even when no one is on the server type deal.

ya the slime islands are really rare, dria's found 3 now.

we're still looking for a jungle as well

gold does seem to be rare, but that can be solved with a pigman farm.

I'll pick up 2 cows next time I'm in the mining age and put them in a pen near spawn.

if anyone finds a jungle, can you bring me back some bees?

for blood magic, if I have a drum full of blood, is there a way to input it into the altar? I tried the enderio fluid conduits and the extra utilities node & pipes and they didn't work. I hooked them up to all sides and the bottom. Also I have a tier 3 altar with just blank runes.

it seems they fixed most of the draconic evolution bugs including the chaos guardian. he looks amazing and still kills you even if you're in creative mode.

I kept mine in a ae system with a export bus into the endogenic generators. every time I log in thousands of pearls just vanish. I'm not sure if this bug is caused by the generators or the storage system. it's hard to pin down, but I'm leaning towards AE2 as the export bus should not be able to feed that many pearls at once, especially when there's no upgrades to the bus.

I moved my draconic infusion setup to spawn with a passive power generator. there should be enough power for 1 upgrade, then it will take a while to recharge. If you're going to do a lot of upgrading there's also a dimensional tranciever so you can tie into your power. Once the chaos guardian has been fixed I suggest upgrading this setup first as you'll need to kill two just to upgrade the infusers to do the chaos level upgrades.

It should be easy to find, it's quite the ugly building, next to the chicken cooker.

Hey dark, I am about to set up a draconic reactor and figured a void world might be the best place for it. But I'm not sure how to set up a void world and what options you can use on the server. I usually just randomly try stuff til I find something I like and I know you changed the settings

Is there a dimension planner out there? I looked and couldn't find one. I want to make sure I get the eternal day and no weather options, and maybe try some coloring.

can I set the mobs to endermen? and make a nice endermen farm there? maybe add in some effects?

If you could post a list of an approved void world for us to copy, that would be awesome as well

Sounds like your testing a anti matter reactor that could end planets!

but a nice draconic reactor that doesn't go boom will make 550k RF/t

seeing how it will be the first I've ever built, the safe bet is on boom

try some draconic infusion, to make 1 of 9 chaos level injectors took 880 million rf, and you need 10 of them. not to mention all the other infusing for the armor, weapons, upgrading and recharging.

I have the AE storage network, spawners, the 3 quantum quarries (2k rf/t min), the machines to process the ores, and potentially a void dimension here shortly. my 40k extreme reactor, and 3 endergenic generator systems can't keep up with it all, so I have to keep turning machines on and off to work on projects.

so I'm going for overkill and solving all my RF issues in one mighty destructive machine

I barely know much more than the basics with RFTools. I've got the server enforcing that only void worlds can be made and you're also limited to two dimensions each (I think you can delete your own dimensions too if you don't like how it turned out).

The RFTools wiki has some example dimensions, including a void dimension, but I'm sure there's plenty of others out there on that there internet who have their own imlementations.

Well I am good and thuroughly screwed. My bed wasn't set, and I died. My house is 26000 blocks from spawn, with no teleporter and no viable Nether travel route. I did manage to find a pair of Nether fortresses before I perished a 3rd time.

and then you crashed the server 3 times

you can use a lava factory to generate lava, the more rf you can give it the faster you get lava, but they're cheap and easy to make and you can pump the lava right into drums.

if you have a village nearby the chunk wards work nicely, or you can claim & chunk load the nether chunks with the lava. dimensional transceivers to send it the energy and send the lava back to your base.

I got my reactor working and it didn't blow up it even survived the first server reset Maybe I should start a power company, I'll set up transceivers for customers now what's a good currency for the server?

if you haven't changed your keymap, pressing 'I' will bring up the configuration menu for the draconic stuff. Change all the movement sliders to 0.

Or take off the pants and that will also slow you down and try not to run which kicks in the flight bonus.

So what's the deal with chunk loaders?

I've been testing them out the last couple of days and they don't load til someone visits the chunks to load them first and get them started. I've claimed chunks and used it to chunk load some areas, then I even put a chunk loading ward in the chunk I want loaded. Neither will load with the server, and if I log in in a different area they still don't load.

am I missing something? will the chunk loader from IC2 work? is there a way to load chunk with the server so I can move into a void dimension and not have to worry about my reactor in the real world and running out of power?

If I can't load the chunks reliably then there could be a draconic reactor built under spawn, as long as no one plays with it, it shouldn't explode

a crystabalized flux duct is infinite RF and the draconic power crystals are over 1 million for a basic one.

I then beam the power into a bank of 30 capacitors, then send off the power through dimensional tranceivers in 40k chunks to various machines.

if you use the end portal at my place you can see the machine setups and I would condense it and put it under the draconic infusion room at spawn and then power that as well.

that's a good start, I muddle through most of the mods, and use youtube a lot

why reinvent the wheel and figure it out yourself, when it's already been min/maxed and a step by step guide is already made
